Service Fusion vs ProTakip: Why Small Carpet Cleaners Choose ProTakip

For carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners weighing Service Fusion: what it really costs per year, what its app reviews say, and why small crews choose ProTakip, as of September 2026. ProTakip: $20 a month, unlimited users, first three months free.

ProTakip's team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years. Before smartphones existed, we put carpet-cleaning software on bank POS terminals so crews could take an order and print a receipt for the customer at the door. Today the same team ships one app for Android, iPhone and the web. This Service Fusion vs ProTakip comparison is written from that experience. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.

Service Fusion, part of the EverPro family of brands, is a US field-service platform for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and similar contractors, priced from $245 to $627 a month with unlimited users and several features sold as add-ons.

The decisive difference for a small carpet cleaner: Service Fusion's entry price is built for a contractor office, and photos and GPS cost more; ProTakip is one flat fee of $20 a month with unlimited users, every feature included, no contract, and the first three months free. Everything below reflects September 2026.

What Service Fusion offers

According to its website (September 2026), Service Fusion's Starter plan includes customer management, estimates with options, scheduling and dispatching, invoicing, integrated payments, QuickBooks integration, reporting and text messaging alerts, with unlimited users on every plan. Plus adds job photos, inventory, job costing and integrated voice & text; Pro adds an open API, custom documents, eSign, a customer portal and recurring billing; GPS fleet tracking is an add-on on every plan. The feature set is shaped around estimates, invoices and technicians.

What Service Fusion really costs in 2026

Prices as published in September 2026 on Service Fusion's pricing page, turned into what actually leaves your bank account each year:

All plans include unlimited users; the 15% annual price is charged as one annual payment at sign-up, and Service Fusion states all plans are month-to-month with no contract requirements. There is no free plan and no free trial; access starts with a demo.

The headline figure is not the whole bill: on Starter, job photos, inventory, job costing, custom documents, eSign, the customer portal, recurring invoicing, ServiceCall.ai and GPS fleet tracking are add-ons, on Plus most of them are still extra, and even Pro lists fleet tracking and ServiceCall.ai as add-ons; add-on prices were not verified, so budget above these figures. Unlike the per-user rivals covered in our ServiceTitan vs ProTakip and Housecall Pro vs ProTakip comparisons, every plan includes unlimited users.

Worked example: an owner with four field staff. A rug cleaner needs a photo of every item at pickup, so Starter is out and Plus is the realistic entry. That is $4,584 a year on monthly billing, or $3,900 committed for the year — about $917 per person per year for a five-person crew on monthly billing — before GPS fleet tracking or any other add-on. To weigh that against what you charge per job, our carpet cleaning pricing guide frames the numbers.

The same five-person team on ProTakip pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users. Photos, QR labels, route optimisation and vehicle GPS tracking are included, there is no contract to sign, you can cancel any month, and the first three months cost nothing. Current pricing is on our download and pricing page.

What Service Fusion users complain about in 2026 reviews

The two app stores tell very different stories. The original Service Fusion iOS app holds 4.57 from 1,421 ratings, but its last App Store update was in April 2025. The Android app, updated on 14 September 2026, is rated 2.6 from 29 reviews, and the newer Service Fusion by EverPro iOS app is rated 2.6 from 23 ratings.

Slowness, freezing, lost work and missing basics dominate the sample. One Google Play reviewer wrote:

"It always freezes up... you finish writing your notes and then go to upload it and the app just spins and spins." — Google Play review, 2026

Connectivity comes up repeatedly:

"If you don't have a perfect cell service or Wi-Fi connection, it can completely disrupt the entire job." — Google Play review, 2026

Other reviewers report having to sign in every time the new app opens, with no "remember me" option, a camera that forces a zoom and status changes that lag even on full signal. Some long-standing customers say the product has not kept pace:

"…after 2020 things have changed drastically…" — App Store review of the original Service Fusion app, December 2021

In the sample of recent Google Play reviews we checked, the developer had not replied to any of them.

Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip

22 years in carpet cleaning, not a general tool with a carpet page. We started on bank POS terminals so crews could print a receipt at the customer's door, and every generation since has been shaped by carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners. The workflow follows the item: received, in wash, ready, out for delivery, delivered, with pickup and delivery lists for drivers and an all-operations board for the owner. Items are priced per square metre or per item from your price list; quotes, recurring jobs and an appointments calendar cover home and office cleaning.

One full app on Android, iPhone and the web. Every platform gets the same version on the same day. There is no old app and new app to choose between, and no "lite" mobile version with office-only features.

At the door, the job is documented. The driver photographs each rug or sofa at pickup, which ends "that stain wasn't there" disputes, then prints a QR label showing the item's place in the order ("3 / 7") and a receipt on a Bluetooth thermal printer straight from the phone.

You know who is calling on Android before you answer. Caller ID on Android shows the caller's name, address, notes, balance and open orders by stage before you pick up — with the app closed and even with no signal. In the office it comes through a USB caller-ID device or a cloud switchboard with a web pop-up. Our Caller ID guide explains the setup.

Customers stop calling to ask "where is my rug?" Automatic SMS and WhatsApp messages go out at every stage, with a tracking link, and SMS works for international customers too. A WhatsApp Business inbox sits inside the app. See our guide to customer notifications over WhatsApp.

Delivery runs plan themselves. Automatic route optimisation orders the day's stops, with map view, navigation and vehicle GPS tracking included — not sold as an add-on.

Head-to-head: the five differences that decide Service Fusion vs ProTakip

ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.

Pricing model: both offer unlimited users, but only one includes everything

It also includes unlimited users, so the difference is the entry point and the add-ons. It starts at $245 a month, photos need Plus at $382, and GPS fleet tracking costs extra on every plan. On ProTakip photos, labels, route planning and vehicle GPS are all in the one flat fee, so the bill never grows with a new capability.

Mobile experience: one app everywhere versus an app in transition

The company is moving users from its original app, rated 4.57 on the App Store, to Service Fusion by EverPro, rated 2.6 from 23 ratings, while the Android app also sits at 2.6. ProTakip ships one app with the same version on Android, iOS and web, so your crew never has to switch apps and no platform lags behind.

Working without signal: built in where it matters

Several Service Fusion reviewers say weak coverage can disrupt a job and that uploads spin until they time out; its offline behaviour was not verified for this article. In ProTakip, Caller ID works fully offline and new orders can be created without signal and sync later; other screens need a connection.

Customer communication: texts and calls versus SMS plus WhatsApp

It includes text messaging alerts on every plan and integrated voice & text on Plus and Pro; WhatsApp was not verified. ProTakip sends automatic SMS and WhatsApp updates at each order stage, has a WhatsApp Business inbox in the app, and shows callers' details through Caller ID on Android. If your customers prefer WhatsApp, or you work outside the US, that means fewer calls for a small team.

Industry fit: general contractor tools versus a pickup-and-delivery pipeline

Carpet and rug cleaning is not a contractor job: items leave the customer's home, go through washing and drying, and come back. ProTakip models that directly with pickup and delivery lists, square-metre pricing, item photos and printed labels. Our guide on how to choose carpet cleaning software walks through these criteria; a small crew should not have to bend a contractor tool to fit its day.

Why ProTakip is the best Service Fusion alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business

ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software for one-to-fifteen-person teams; this is why it is the best Service Fusion alternative for that business.

If you clean carpets, rugs or upholstery, or run a dry-cleaning or home-cleaning business with one to fifteen people, we built ProTakip for you. Your drivers take photos and print QR labels at the door, your phone tells you who is calling on Android before you answer, and your customers get SMS and WhatsApp updates without anyone typing them.

You pay one flat monthly fee whether you have two people or twelve, with no add-ons for photos or GPS and no annual contract. You also get a team that has built carpet-cleaning software for 22 years and real people answering in the app. If you want a lower fixed cost and a field app your crew will not fight with, ProTakip is the stronger Service Fusion alternative.

A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.

Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.

Switching from Service Fusion to ProTakip without losing data

Export your customer list and job history from Service Fusion while your account is still active. Our team imports your customers and job history for you, at no extra cost. Because the first three months are free and need no credit card, you can run both systems side by side for two weeks, confirm everything is in place, and then cancel Service Fusion at the end of its month-to-month term, or at the end of your annual term if you chose annual billing. Our guide to switching software explains each step, and the route planning guide covers setting up delivery runs.
