Simpro vs ProTakip is a comparison between a general platform for commercial trades and a program built for one kind of business: carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning. ProTakip's team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years. We started before smartphones existed, putting carpet-cleaning software on bank POS terminals so crews could take an order and print a receipt for the customer at the door. Today the same team ships one app for Android, iPhone and the web. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.
Simpro is a per-user job, project and asset management platform for commercial trades such as electrical, HVAC, fire protection and security, sold on a quote after a demo, and in October 2024 it acquired the UK field-service platform BigChange.
The decisive difference for a carpet cleaner: Simpro charges for every user on a quoted price you only see after a sales call, while ProTakip is one flat fee of $20 a month with unlimited users, no annual contract and the first three months free. This page sets out both products as of September 2026, using the prices that third-party guides and users report (Simpro publishes none), plus real Google Play and App Store reviews.

Simpro vs ProTakip at a glance
For a small carpet-cleaning team, ProTakip is the better buy: one flat fee of $20 a month for unlimited users, the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, and a pickup-to-delivery workflow built for rugs. The table shows where Simpro differs, with every figure dated September 2026.

What Simpro offers
Simpro is job, project and asset management software for contractors whose work runs like small projects: quotes, stock, timesheets, assets and back-costing of jobs against estimates. It bundles office software with the Simpro Mobile app for technicians, and it is priced per user on a quote. The 2024 BigChange acquisition puts a second field-service product under the same owner; see our BigChange vs ProTakip and ServiceTitan vs ProTakip pages for how those platforms compare.
What Simpro really costs in 2026
Simpro's pricing page publishes no figures: every plan ends in a "Request Pricing" button, the FAQ says "Contact us today for a personalized quote", and instead of a trial it offers "a tailored demo with one of our local consultants" (simprogroup.com/pricing, September 2026). Here is what is reported as of September 2026, turned into the cash that leaves your bank each year; all figures are US dollars unless stated:
- Published price: none. The pricing page says you can choose monthly or annual billing and confirms an initial setup fee for onboarding, training and data migration, priced per business.
- What third-party guides and users report paying: roughly $150–300 per user per month, which is $1,800–3,600 a year for every user.
- One New Zealand report: NZ$200 per user per month, NZ$2,400 a year per user, plus NZ$50 for mobile access.
- Free plan: none. Trial: none published; you book a demo.
- Annual prepay discount, contract length, SMS or payment charges: not published, so get them in writing before you sign.
Worked example: an owner with four field staff. That is five users. At the $150–300 per user that guides and users report, those five logins cost $750–1,500 a month, or $9,000–18,000 a year, before the setup fee. Because the number is only revealed after a demo, that range is the risk you carry into a quoted sale. One App Store reviewer, a customer of several years, reports "multiple increases" in charges over the last 12 months and says they are planning to switch software.
On ProTakip the same team of five pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year). You can add the part-timer, the driver and your partner without the bill moving, you can cancel any month, and the first three months cost nothing. Our guide to choosing service business software shows how to compare per-user and flat pricing over a full year.

What Simpro reviews say users complain about
Simpro reviews on Google Play are split. In our sample of 219 Google Play reviews, 76 were one-star and 78 were five-star; the remaining 65 sat in between, and the developer replied to about 7% of them.
Crashes and bugs were the most frequent complaint theme, followed by missing features and slowness. Reviewers describe the app freezing on some asset screens, data being lost when the app is force-closed, awkward editing of timesheet entries, a location lookup that blocks note entry, and the calendar showing the wrong day. Several mention sync problems between the app and the office.
"Stock control, losing job notes and site attachments are some major issues." — Google Play review from a business using Simpro for 4–5 years
"I have to keep logging out of the app and back in on my apple and android devices to get the jobs to load." — Google Play review
"support is super slow, days if not weeks." — Google Play review
Reviewers also ask for basics such as cropping photos, saving a signature instead of re-signing after every edit, and moving the pre-audit step to the top of each job. Price was rarely raised in Play reviews, since reviewers are often technicians rather than the owner paying the invoice.
Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip
It was built for your trade, and only your trade. ProTakip is not a general job-management tool with a carpet-cleaning page added for marketing. For 22 years our team has built software only for carpet-cleaning businesses, from bank POS terminals that printed receipts at the door to today's third-generation app. The workflow is the one you already run: an order moves from received to in wash, ready, out for delivery and delivered, with pickup and delivery lists for drivers and an all-operations board for the owner. You price per square metre or per item from your own price list, and the same app handles quotes, appointments and recurring jobs for upholstery, dry-cleaning and home or office cleaning work.
One full app on every device. ProTakip runs on Android, iPhone and the web from one codebase, and every platform gets the same version on the same day. There is no cut-down field app: the owner, the office and the driver use the same app, in any of 26 languages.
Labels and receipts at the door. Photograph each item at pickup so damage disputes end before they start. Print QR-coded labels showing each item's place in the order ("3 / 7") and a receipt for the customer on a Bluetooth thermal printer straight from the phone. Nothing gets mixed up in the wash hall.
Know who is calling on Android before you answer. On Android, ProTakip's Caller ID shows the caller's name, address, notes, balance and open orders before the phone even rings, with the app closed and without internet. In the office it works through a USB caller-ID device or a cloud switchboard. You answer by name, with the order in front of you.
Customers stop ringing to ask where their rug is. Automatic SMS and WhatsApp messages go out at every stage, including for customers outside Türkiye, with a tracking link to follow the order. A WhatsApp Business inbox sits inside the app. Our customer notifications guide shows how it works, and our route planning guide covers automatic delivery route optimisation and vehicle GPS tracking.
- Unlimited users on one flat monthly fee, no annual contract, no setup fee, and your data stays yours.
- Free migration from your old software, done by our team.
- Live human support inside the app, plus an AI assistant and remote screen share.
- Rated 5.0 on Google Play (37 reviews) and 4.98 on the App Store (46 ratings) as of September 2026; every one of the 42 written reviews is five stars.

Head-to-head: the five differences that decide Simpro vs ProTakip
ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.
1. Per-user quotes versus one flat price
Simpro charges per user and quotes each business, so the bill rises every time you add an office assistant or a seasonal helper. ProTakip is one flat monthly subscription with unlimited users. You give everyone their own login without doing the maths first, and you know the monthly cost before you start, not after a sales call.
2. The app your crew actually uses
Simpro Mobile is rated 3.8 on Google Play and 4.26 on the App Store, and reviewers report crashes, sync problems and repeated logins. ProTakip is rated 5.0 and 4.98, and it is the same full app on Android, iPhone and web. In a basement or a rural street with no signal, ProTakip still recognises callers and lets you take a new order that syncs when the connection returns.
3. Carpet order flow versus project tools you will never open
Simpro is designed around multi-day projects, asset maintenance, stock and job costing. A carpet cleaner collecting and delivering dozens of items a day needs pickup lists, square-metre pricing, QR labels and delivery routes, and that is exactly what ProTakip has refined for 22 years. You pay for the tools you use, not for a contractor's project suite.
4. Customer notifications and Caller ID
SMS, WhatsApp notifications and Caller ID are not verified in our Simpro data. In ProTakip they are core: automatic SMS and WhatsApp messages at each stage, a tracking link, a WhatsApp inbox and Caller ID on Android that works offline. For an owner answering the phone while loading the van, that means fewer "where is my order" calls and faster answers when customers do ring.
5. Setup, contracts and support
Simpro offers a demo rather than a free trial, contract terms are not published, one reviewer describes support replies taking days or weeks, and the developer replied to about 7% of sampled Play reviews. ProTakip has no contract or setup fee, our team migrates your data for you, live people answer inside the app, and we reply to about 96% of Play reviews. You test it with real orders for three months instead of deciding on a sales presentation.
Why ProTakip is the best Simpro alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business
ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software for one-to-fifteen-person teams; this is why it is the best Simpro alternative for that business.
If you collect, clean and return carpets, rugs or upholstery, or run a dry-cleaning or home-cleaning crew of one to fifteen people, ProTakip is the better buy on every count that matters to you. You pay one flat fee instead of a per-user quote, so growing the team never grows the bill. You avoid an annual contract and can leave any month. Your crew gets the same full app on Android and iPhone, and the office gets it in the browser.
We also cover the parts of the day general trade platforms were never designed for: labels and receipts printed at the customer's door, photos that settle damage claims, Caller ID on Android that tells you who is ringing before you pick up, and SMS and WhatsApp updates that keep customers informed without a single phone call from you. Behind it is a team that has done nothing but carpet-cleaning software for 22 years and answers you in person inside the app. You can see all comparisons to check ProTakip against the rest of your shortlist.
A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.
Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.
Switching from Simpro to ProTakip without stopping work
Export your customer list and job history from Simpro while your account is active, and check your agreement for notice or data-export terms. Send the export to us: our team imports your customers and orders into ProTakip for you, at no charge.
Then run both systems side by side for two weeks. Move one crew or one type of job across first, check that everything is where you expect it, and cancel Simpro when you are confident. Because the first three months are free and no credit card is needed, the switch costs you nothing while you test. Our switching and data migration guide lists the steps and what to check before you cancel. Simpro's own site is at simprogroup.com.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Simpro cost compared with ProTakip?
Simpro prices per user and quotes each business; its pricing page publishes no figures and confirms an initial setup fee. As reported in September 2026 by third-party guides and users, it costs roughly US$150–300 per user per month ($1,800–3,600 a year per user); one New Zealand report cites NZ$200 plus NZ$50 for mobile. For an owner with four field staff that is $9,000–18,000 a year before the setup fee. ProTakip is one flat subscription of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users, no contract and no setup fee, and the first three months are free.
Is Simpro or ProTakip better for carpet and rug cleaning?
ProTakip. It is the product of 22 years of building software only for carpet-cleaning businesses, so pickup and delivery lists, square-metre pricing, photos at pickup, QR labels printed on a Bluetooth printer and automatic SMS and WhatsApp updates at each stage are all part of the core app. And a small team pays one flat fee with unlimited users and no contract, instead of a per-user quote that grows with every helper you add.
Is ProTakip a good Simpro alternative for a small electrical or HVAC business?
ProTakip is a carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning program, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning companies. It is not aimed at electrical or HVAC work, so this comparison is written for cleaners, not for those trades. If your business collects, cleans and returns carpets, rugs or upholstery, ProTakip is built for exactly that.
What do Simpro reviews say about the mobile app?
As of September 2026, Simpro Mobile is rated 3.8 on Google Play from 899 reviews and 4.26 on the App Store from 104 ratings. In our sample of 219 Google Play reviews, 76 were one-star, and the most frequent complaints were crashes and bugs, missing features, slowness and sync problems. ProTakip is rated 5.0 on Google Play and 4.98 on the App Store, and every written review is five stars.
Can I move my data from Simpro to ProTakip?
Yes. Export your customer list and job history from Simpro while your account is active, and check your agreement for data-export terms. The ProTakip team migrates customer lists and orders for you at no charge. Because the first three months are free with no credit card, you can run both systems side by side for a couple of weeks before you cancel Simpro.
Simpro is a trademark of its respective owner. ProTakip is not affiliated with or endorsed by Simpro. Competitor pricing and ratings are as published on the vendor's website or app stores on 27 September 2026 and may change.
