Geelus vs ProTakip: Why Cleaners With Pickup and Delivery Choose ProTakip

For dry cleaners, rug and upholstery cleaners weighing Geelus against ProTakip: what each really costs per year, how the apps compare, and why a phone-first team is better served by ProTakip, as of September 2026. ProTakip: $20 a month, unlimited users, first three months free.

ProTakip's team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years. We started before smartphones existed, putting order software on bank POS terminals so crews could take an order and print a receipt at the customer's door. Today the same team ships one full app for Android, iPhone and the web, used by carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners, dry cleaners and home and office cleaning companies. That is the lens for this Geelus vs ProTakip comparison. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.

Geelus is an Australian point-of-sale system for dry cleaners and clothing alterations counters, sold as a tiered monthly subscription whose price rises with your order volume and number of users.

The decisive difference: Geelus starts at US$19 a month for one user and 50 orders and meters everything above that — $10 for each extra user, $10 for each extra 250 orders, $129 a month for the Medium tier — while ProTakip is one flat fee of $20 a month with unlimited users, no contract, and a pickup-to-delivery workflow built for teams on the road. All figures here are as of September 2026, from Geelus's website and the app stores; where we could not verify something, we say so. For a wider shortlist, see our guide to dry cleaning management software.

What Geelus offers

Geelus is designed around clothing alterations as well as dry cleaning, so hems, zip replacements and fittings have their own workflow. According to its website (September 2026), it also covers invoicing at the counter, pickup and delivery with geofencing, appointment scheduling, barcode scanning, SMS and email templates, employee rostering, reports, an offline mode and multi-store or multi-register setups. It runs on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebooks as well as phones and tablets, and the 30-day trial does not ask for a credit card.

On the stores it shows 4.6 on Google Play from 96 reviews and 5.0 on the App Store, the latter from only 5 ratings.

What Geelus really costs in 2026

On monthly billing Geelus costs US$19 (Starter), $39 (Small) or $129 (Medium) a month — $228, $468 or $1,548 a year — and the $9/$19/$89 headline prices need a two-year term. Prices are in US dollars as shown to a US visitor; Geelus localises its price list by country. Here is what leaves your bank account each year:

According to its website, the pricing page opens on the two-year price by default: yearly billing is labelled “save 20%”, quarterly “save 8%” and the two-year term “lowest price” — which means the cheapest Geelus price is the one that ties you in longest. Extra users are $10 a month each, a 250-order pack is $10 a month, and an extra register is $49 a month billed annually or $59 billed monthly. SMS alerts are charged at carrier rates on top.

The real cost is the meter. Small includes 2 users and 250 orders a month; every extra person is $10 a month and every extra 250 orders is another $10, so the bill moves with every hire and every busy month, and once the add-ons pile up you are looking at Medium at $1,548 a year on monthly billing.

Worked example: an owner with four field staff is five users. On Small that is $39 plus three $10 add-on seats, $69 a month or $828 a year, still capped at 250 orders a month unless you buy $10 order packs; on Medium it is $1,548 a year on monthly billing, or $1,308 if you prepay the whole year. Hire past ten people and Medium no longer fits either.

On ProTakip that same five-person team pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users and every feature included. There are no order caps, no seat steps, no annual contract, you can cancel any month, and the first three months cost nothing. Current pricing for your country is on the download page or via the contact form.

What Geelus users complain about in reviews

Geelus reviewers mainly report sign-up and setup problems; the app holds 4.6 on Google Play (96 reviews) and 5.0 on the App Store (5 ratings), September 2026. The recent written sample we analysed (15 Google Play reviews and 1 App Store review, twelve of them 5 stars and three 1 star) is dominated by one theme: getting started.

The clearest complaint was about getting started. Two 1-star reviewers reported the same problem:

“It won't let me sign up at all” — Google Play review, 2026

One 5-star reviewer, while positive overall, described the setup effort:

“I'd like it better if it was automated. This setting up stuff after years of already hard work is exhausting.” — Google Play review, 2026

Several 5-star reviews in the sample were unrelated to dry cleaning, so read the headline rating with that small, noisy sample in mind. We found no developer replies in the sampled Google Play reviews.

Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip

22 years in this trade, not a general tool with a cleaning page. ProTakip is a carpet and upholstery cleaning program, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaners. Its workflow is the one your day actually follows: received, in wash, ready, out for delivery, delivered. Each stage has its own list, so the team always knows what to collect, what is in production and what goes out today.

The same full app everywhere. Android, iPhone and the web run from one codebase and get the same version on the same day. The driver on an Android phone and the owner on an iPhone see the same screens and the same data — there is no “lite” mobile edition.

Work done at the door. At pickup you photograph each item, which ends “that stain was not there before” disputes. You price per square metre or per item, print a QR label showing the item's position in the order (“3 / 7”) on a Bluetooth thermal printer, and hand the customer a printed receipt on the spot.

Know who is calling on Android before you answer. ProTakip's Caller ID on Android shows the caller's name, address, balance and open orders before the phone rings, with the app closed and even with no signal. In the office, the same card appears through a cloud switchboard or a USB caller-ID device.

Customers stop phoning to ask. Automatic WhatsApp and SMS messages go out at every stage, including for international customers, and a tracking link lets them check status themselves. Our guide to customer notifications on WhatsApp shows how shops cut “is it ready yet?” calls. Delivery runs use automatic route optimisation with maps and vehicle GPS; see our delivery scheduling and route planning guide.

Head-to-head: the five differences that decide Geelus vs ProTakip

ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.

Pricing grows with orders and staff on Geelus, stays flat on ProTakip

Geelus meters both people and orders: Small includes 2 users and 250 orders a month, each extra user or 250-order pack is $10 a month, and Medium is $129 a month on monthly billing. On ProTakip one flat monthly fee covers unlimited users and all features, so a busy season or a new driver never changes your bill.

Geelus is counter-first POS, ProTakip is phone-first operations

Geelus is a point-of-sale system first and runs on desktop computers as well as phones. ProTakip runs the business from the phone: orders, pickup lists, labels, photos, routes and customer messages in one mobile app, with the web for the office. If your staff spend the day on the road, ProTakip removes the trips back to the till.

Geelus models alterations, ProTakip models pickup, delivery and bulky items

Geelus has a dedicated alterations workflow; ProTakip is not a tailoring POS. ProTakip was built for carpet and rug cleaning, with square-metre pricing, item photos at pickup and a production pipeline for bulky items. A dry cleaner that also cleans rugs or runs a collection service will find far more of its work modelled in ProTakip; see our carpet cleaning software page.

ProTakip sends stage-triggered SMS and WhatsApp, Geelus offers message templates

According to its website, Geelus offers SMS and email templates; WhatsApp does not appear on its site. ProTakip sends automatic SMS and WhatsApp at each stage, and adds a WhatsApp Business inbox, bulk SMS and satisfaction surveys. Where customers live on WhatsApp, that means fewer calls — and Caller ID on Android tells you who is calling before you answer, even without signal.

Geelus lists payments, ProTakip leads on visible human support

Geelus lists payment processing integration on its website; ProTakip does not process card payments. On support, ProTakip offers live human chat inside the app and remote screen-share, and replies publicly to most store reviews, while no developer replies appeared in Geelus's sampled Play reviews. When something goes wrong on a delivery day, a person who answers is worth more than a template.

Why ProTakip is the best Geelus alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business

ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software for one-to-fifteen-person teams; this is why it is the best Geelus alternative for that business.

Choose ProTakip if you clean carpets, rugs or upholstery, if your dry cleaning runs on collection and delivery, or if your team spends more time on the road than behind a counter. We built the stage-by-stage pipeline, pickup and delivery lists, photos, QR labels, Bluetooth receipts, route optimisation, Caller ID and automatic SMS and WhatsApp for exactly that way of working.

ProTakip is also the better buy the moment you grow past two people. On Geelus, every extra person and every extra 250 orders adds to the bill; on ProTakip you keep one flat fee however many drivers, washers or seasonal helpers you add, with no contract to sit out. And when you need help, a human answers inside the app.

If you are weighing several options, compare ProTakip with CleanCloud, Cents, Starchup and Quick Dry Cleaning, or see all comparisons.

A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.

Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.

Switching from Geelus to ProTakip without starting from scratch

The setup fatigue one Geelus reviewer described is exactly what our migration service removes. The ProTakip team imports your customer list and order history exported from your current system, so nobody re-enters years of records by hand.

Because the first three months are free with no card, you can run both for two weeks: keep the counter on Geelus while drivers try pickups, labels and notifications in ProTakip. Once the team is comfortable, cancel Geelus. Our switching and data migration guide covers what to export. Geelus itself is at geelus.com.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Geelus cost compared with ProTakip?

As published in September 2026, Geelus costs $19 a month for Starter (50 orders, 1 user), $39 for Small (250 orders, 2 users) and $129 for Medium (unlimited orders, 10 users) on monthly billing; the $9/$19/$89 headline prices apply only on a two-year term. On monthly billing that is $468 a year for Small and $1,548 a year for Medium; extra users and 250-order packs are $10 a month each on the lower tiers. ProTakip is one flat subscription of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users and every feature included, no contract, and the first three months are free.

Is Geelus or ProTakip better for carpet and rug cleaning?

ProTakip. Our team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years, and it shows in two places Geelus does not cover: price per square metre with photos and QR labels for each rug at pickup, and automatic SMS and WhatsApp updates at every stage from pickup to delivery. Geelus is built around dry cleaning and clothing alterations and does not present itself as carpet cleaning software. For a small rug or upholstery team, ProTakip is the better buy.

Is ProTakip a good Geelus alternative for alterations and tailoring?

ProTakip is not an alterations or tailoring POS and has no dedicated alterations workflow; this comparison is written for cleaners who collect and deliver. If your dry cleaning work leans towards collection and delivery, ProTakip's pipeline, route planning and notifications will save your team more time, on one flat fee with the first three months free.

Can I move my data from Geelus to ProTakip?

Yes. The ProTakip team handles data migration for you, typically your customer list and orders exported from your current system, so nobody re-types years of records. Because the first three months are free and no credit card is needed, you can run Geelus and ProTakip side by side for two weeks, then cancel Geelus once the team is comfortable.

What do Geelus reviews say?

As of September 2026, Geelus shows 4.6 on Google Play from 96 reviews and 5.0 on the App Store from 5 ratings. The recent written sample is small: most reviews are 5 stars, while the 1-star reviews mention being unable to sign up. No developer replies appeared in the sampled Play reviews. ProTakip holds 5.0 on Google Play and 4.98 on the App Store, and we reply to about 96% of Play reviews.

Geelus is a trademark of its respective owner. ProTakip is not affiliated with or endorsed by Geelus. Competitor pricing and ratings are as published on the vendor's website or app stores on 27 September 2026 and may change.
