ProTakip's team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years. We started before smartphones existed, putting carpet-cleaning software on bank POS terminals so crews could take an order and print a receipt for the customer at the door. Today the same team ships one app for Android, iPhone and the web, and this ServiceMonster vs ProTakip comparison is written for owners of small carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning teams, roughly one to fifteen people, who are choosing the system to run their business on. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.
ServiceMonster is a US job-management and marketing platform for carpet cleaners, priced by plan and by seat, with an annual commitment on every plan.
The decisive difference fits in one sentence: ServiceMonster charges per seat on a yearly contract, while ProTakip charges one flat fee of $20 a month for unlimited users, with no contract and the first three months free. All prices, ratings and review figures below are as of September 2026; competitor pricing comes from ServiceMonster's own website, ratings and review excerpts from Google Play and the Apple App Store. If you are still building a shortlist, our guide to choosing carpet cleaning software lists the questions to ask any vendor.

ServiceMonster vs ProTakip at a glance

What ServiceMonster offers
According to ServiceMonster's website (September 2026), every plan includes accounts, scheduling and orders, the mobile app, free training, free phone support and access to FillMySchedule and MarketPlace. The Grow plan adds marketing, reporting, dashboards, leads and API access. Premier adds opportunities, drip campaigns and inventory control.
What ServiceMonster really costs in 2026
According to ServiceMonster's website, these are the published prices in September 2026, converted into what actually leaves your bank account each year:
- Basic: $99.99 a month billed monthly, which is $1,199.88 a year, or $79.99 a month billed annually, which is $959.88 paid up front. That buys one login. The plan does not allow additional users, so the moment a second person needs the app you are on the next plan.
- Grow: $199.99 a month billed monthly, $2,399.88 a year, or $149.99 a month billed annually, $1,799.88 paid up front. Five logins are included. Each helper you add after that is another $15 a month, $180 a year.
- Premier: $279.99 a month billed monthly, $3,359.88 a year, or $229.99 a month billed annually, $2,759.88 paid up front. Ten logins are included; each extra user is another $25 a month, $300 a year.
The pricing page states that every subscription level requires an annual commitment. Paying monthly changes how you pay, not how long you are tied in: on Grow you are committing to $2,399.88 over the year even if you stop using it in month three. There is no free plan, and the trial lasts 14 days. Marketing, reporting and dashboards are not in Basic at all, and card processing and SMS costs are not listed, so we could not verify them.
A worked example. An owner with four field staff needs five logins. Basic cannot take them, so the team lands on Grow: $2,399.88 a year billed monthly, or $1,799.88 paid up front, locked in for twelve months. Hire a seasonal helper and a second driver in spring and that becomes $2,759.88 a year on monthly billing.
The same team on ProTakip pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users, whether that is five people or twelve. There is no contract, so you can cancel any month, and the first three months cost nothing. For a wider view of what the industry charges customers, see our carpet cleaning pricing guide.

What ServiceMonster users complain about: the mobile app
ServiceMonster reviews on the app stores are mixed to negative. As of September 2026 the app holds 3.5 on Google Play from 129 reviews and 2.78 on the App Store from 55 ratings. In a sample of 46 recent Play reviews, 18 were one-star and 13 were five-star; in a sample of 23 App Store reviews, 9 were one-star and 5 were five-star. Technicians using the app every day are the most critical group.
The most frequent theme is stability. Reviewers describe crashes on work orders, card payments and log-in, often after recent updates.
"Apply card payment? Crash. New work order? Crash. Log in for the first time of the day? Crash." — Google Play review, 2026
The second theme is photos. Several reviewers say uploads freeze the app, forcing a restart and a retry, one photo at a time. For cleaners who document damage before a job, that matters.
"Uploading pictures cause it to freeze/lag almost everytime." — Google Play review, 2026
Others ask for offline use, a longer job history and fewer forced log-outs.
"It would be great if it had offline capabilities. When we have no internet, we cant put any information in." — Google Play review, 2026
In our sample, the developer replied to about 17% of Google Play reviews; most public complaints have no visible answer.
Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip
Twenty-two years of carpet cleaning, nothing else. ProTakip is not a general job tool with a carpet-cleaning page added for marketing. Our team has built software only for carpet-cleaning businesses since the days of bank POS terminals, and today's app is the third generation of that work, used by carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners in Türkiye and internationally. Every screen follows a rug through the plant: received, in wash, ready, out for delivery, delivered.
The same full app on every phone. ProTakip runs on Android, iPhone and the web from one codebase, and every platform gets the same version on the same day. There is no office edition and no cut-down technician app. The owner, the office and the driver see the same screens, so you can run the whole company between pickups.
Built for the doorstep. At pickup the driver photographs each item, which settles damage disputes before they start, then prints a QR label showing the item's place in the order ("3 / 7") and a receipt for the customer on a Bluetooth thermal printer straight from the phone. Every rug can be traced back to its order in the plant.
Know who is calling on Android before you answer. With ProTakip Caller ID on Android, a card appears before the phone rings with the caller's name, address, balance and open orders by stage. It works with the app closed and even with no signal, and the office PC gets the same pop-up through a switchboard integration or a USB caller-ID device.
Customers stop calling to ask "is my rug ready?" Every order stage sends an automatic SMS or WhatsApp message with a tracking link, including for international customers, and a WhatsApp Business inbox sits inside the app. Our guide to customer notifications by SMS and WhatsApp explains the setup.
Routes that plan themselves. ProTakip optimises the delivery route automatically, opens navigation on the map and shows where each vehicle is. Our delivery scheduling and route planning guide shows how teams set it up.
- Unlimited users on one flat fee: no seat counting, no per-technician charge, no annual contract, no setup fee. Your data is yours.
- Free migration: our team imports your customers and orders from your old software.
- Real people on support: live human chat inside the app, plus remote screen-share help.
- Rated by the people who use it: 5.0 on Google Play (37 reviews) and 4.98 on the App Store (46 ratings) as of September 2026; every written review in both stores is five stars, and we reply to around 96% of Play reviews.

Head-to-head: the five differences that decide it
ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.
Pricing model: seats versus one flat fee
ServiceMonster charges by plan and by seat. Basic covers one user with no add-on seats, Grow covers five with $15 for each extra user, and Premier covers ten with $25 per extra user. ProTakip charges one flat monthly fee however many people log in. The consequence: on ProTakip, hiring a seasonal helper, a second driver or a part-time office assistant never changes your bill.
Mobile experience: one full app versus office software plus a technician app
ServiceMonster's reviewers separate the desktop side from the mobile app they use in the field, which they rated 3.5 on Google Play and 2.78 on the App Store in September 2026. ProTakip is mobile-first and ships the same full version to Android, iPhone and the web, rated 5.0 and 4.98. The consequence: an owner who carries rugs can run pricing, scheduling, cash and reports from the van, not only close jobs.
Contracts: a yearly term versus none
ServiceMonster requires an annual commitment on every subscription level, even when billed monthly. ProTakip has no annual contract, and the first three months are free. The consequence: you test ProTakip on real orders at no cost, and if it does not suit your crew you simply stop, with nothing left to pay out.
Customer notifications and calls
Reviewers mention text messaging inside ServiceMonster's app, and one iOS reviewer reports the mobile text screen showing blank; WhatsApp support is not verified. ProTakip sends automatic SMS and WhatsApp messages at every stage, has a WhatsApp Business inbox, and shows who is calling on Android before you pick up. The consequence: fewer status calls, and customers outside the US reached on the channel they actually use.
Industry fit: US marketing depth versus the plant workflow
ServiceMonster puts weight on marketing and sales: FillMySchedule, MarketPlace, leads, opportunities, drip campaigns and API access on the higher plans. ProTakip puts weight on the operational chain of rug and upholstery cleaning: photos and labels at pickup, stage tracking through washing and drying, Bluetooth printing, optimised delivery routes and stage-based notifications. For repeat business, ProTakip messages your own customer list by bulk SMS straight from the app. The consequence: if your daily problem is tracking hundreds of rugs through a plant with a small crew, ProTakip is built for exactly that.
Why ProTakip is the best ServiceMonster alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business
ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software, and this is why it is the best ServiceMonster alternative for a small cleaning business. We built ProTakip for the small carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning team that runs the business from phones, has a mix of Android and iPhone in the crew, and does not want to count seats or sign a yearly contract. If that is you, ProTakip is the stronger ServiceMonster alternative.
It is the better choice when you pick up and deliver rugs and need photos, QR labels and printed receipts at the door; when you track orders stage by stage through a plant; when you want customers updated automatically by SMS and WhatsApp, especially outside the US; and when you want to see who is calling on Android before you answer. It is also the better choice when your team changes with the season: add every helper you hire, pay nothing extra, and keep the same flat fee. Our carpet cleaning software page shows the full workflow.

A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.
Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.
Switching from ServiceMonster to ProTakip without losing data
You do not rebuild anything by hand. Our team migrates data from other carpet-cleaning and cleaning software free of charge: we import your customers and your order history. Export what your ServiceMonster account allows (its site is at servicemonster.com if you need to check the export options), send us the files, and we load them into ProTakip.
Then run both systems side by side for two weeks on real orders. Because the first three months are free, this costs you nothing. When the crew is comfortable, let your ServiceMonster term run out and do not renew it. Our guide to switching carpet cleaning software walks through each step, and our support team is in the app chat if anything gets stuck.
