TIDY vs ProTakip comes down to one question: who is the software working for? ProTakip's team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years. We started before smartphones existed, putting order-taking software on bank POS terminals so crews could print a receipt for the customer right at the door. Today the same team ships one app for Android, iPhone and the web, used by carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners in Türkiye and internationally, and also by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning companies. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.
TIDY is property operations software for rental owners and property managers: it coordinates cleaning, maintenance, restocking, inspections and guest messaging for each unit and charges 3.9% of gross bookings or rent, with a minimum of $19 per unit per month.
The decisive difference: TIDY takes a share of what a property earns, while ProTakip runs the cleaning company itself for one flat fee of $20 a month, with unlimited users, no contract and the first three months free.
Be clear about the buyer. TIDY is built for hosts and property managers who book cleaners; it is not software for running a cleaning company. ProTakip is a carpet and upholstery cleaning program, not a guest-management or rental-operations tool. Hosts comparing turnover apps will find that space in our Turno vs ProTakip comparison. If you run a cleaning business and searched for a TIDY alternative, the rest of this page is for you.

What TIDY offers
According to TIDY's website (September 2026), one subscription bundles scheduling, messaging, billing, quality control, restocking, guest communication, inspections, security and maintenance coordination for rental units, with unlimited properties, users and pros. The fee is a share of gross bookings or rent, subject to a $19 per unit minimum, and its pricing page advertises account credits of up to one year if you do not earn more over 12 months than with your previous manager or self-management, excluding the first 90 days.
What TIDY really costs in 2026
TIDY does not charge per seat; it charges per unit and per booking. Here is what leaves the bank, using the prices on its website in September 2026:
- Core fee: 3.9% of gross bookings or rent every month, with a minimum of $19 per unit per month. Even a unit in a quiet year costs at least $228.
- Cleaning & Maintenance add-on: $39 per unit per month, which is $468 per unit per year (waived initially for long-term rentals, according to the site).
- Payment processing: ACH and wire transfers free, ACH debit 1.7%, credit cards 3.9% — a second percentage on top of the platform fee whenever guests or tenants pay by card.
- Hardware add-ons: WiFi and noise sensor $149 per year; “The Box” $79 per year.
- Trial: the first 7 days are fee-free on completed reservations; the 3.9% fee applies from day 7.
- Contract: no long-term commitment and no setup or onboarding fees.
A worked example: a unit grossing $3,000 a month in bookings pays about $117 a month in platform fees, or $1,404 a year, before any add-on. Ten such units pay about $1,170 a month, which is $14,040 a year. Add Cleaning & Maintenance on all ten and the yearly bill reaches $18,720. And because the core fee is a percentage, every good month makes it bigger.
Now look at it from the cleaning company's side. A carpet or home cleaning business with an owner and four field staff has no units to pay for and no bookings to share; it needs to run orders, crews and money. On ProTakip that team of five pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year), with unlimited users and all features included, no percentage of revenue, no annual contract, and the first three months free with no card. What TIDY users complain about: cancellations and reaching a person
TIDY reviews are split. The Google Play sample of 103 reviews had 52 one-star and 36 five-star ratings, and the App Store sample of 200 had 35 one-star and 148 five-star ratings. Most negative reviews come from people who booked a cleaning, and the most common theme is cancellations: reviewers describe several cleaners accepting and then dropping the same job.
“2 cleaners cancelled on me in a row. I have to plan my whole day around this.” — Google Play review
The second theme is reaching a person. Several reviewers say there is no phone line and that issues are handled by email over days or weeks. The same complaint comes from the other side of the marketplace: a cleaner reviewing the app said parking and access notes promised in the app were missing on site.
“Might be different if they had a phone number you could call, but they don’t.” — Google Play review
“There is no phone number to contact a real person nor the customer.” — Google Play review
Other reviewers ask for calendar sync to avoid double bookings and for earlier job reminders. The developer replied to only about 1% of the sampled Play reviews, so unhappy reviewers rarely see a public answer.
Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip
22 years in one trade. ProTakip is not a general tool with a carpet-cleaning page added for marketing. For 22 years our team has built software only for carpet-cleaning businesses, from bank POS terminals to today's third-generation app. Every job moves through the pipeline your shop already works in: order received, in wash, ready, out for delivery, delivered, with pickup and delivery lists and an all-operations board. Prices go per square metre or per item, and home cleaning teams get the appointments calendar, recurring jobs, quotes and price lists.
Labels and receipts at the door. Your driver prints a QR label for every rug, showing its place in the order (“3 / 7”), and a receipt for the customer on a Bluetooth thermal printer straight from the phone. Photos attached at pickup record the condition of each piece, which ends the “that stain wasn't there” argument before it starts.
The same full app everywhere. Android, iPhone and the web run one codebase, and every platform gets the same version on the same day. Your office on a laptop, your driver on an Android phone and you on an iPhone all see the same orders and the same screens.
Know who is calling on Android before you answer. Caller ID on Android shows the caller's name, address, balance and open orders on the screen before you pick up, with the app closed and even with no signal. In the office, Caller ID comes through a USB caller-ID device bridge or a cloud switchboard integration. The Caller ID guide explains how this works in a busy shop.
Customers informed without anyone typing. Automatic WhatsApp and SMS messages go out at every stage, including for international customers, and a tracking link shows the order status, so the “is my carpet ready?” calls drop. There is a WhatsApp Business inbox in the app, bulk SMS and satisfaction surveys. See customer notifications by SMS and WhatsApp for examples.
- Routes: automatic delivery route optimisation with map view and navigation, plus vehicle and courier GPS tracking.
- Money: cash register, income and expenses, customer receivables, and daily, weekly and monthly reports with staff performance.
- Price: unlimited users on one flat fee, no annual contract, no per-technician charge, and your data is yours.
- Getting started: free migration of your customers and order history, done by our team.
- Support: live human support inside the app, with remote screen-share when needed.
As of September 2026, ProTakip holds 5.0 on Google Play (37 reviews) and 4.98 on the App Store (46 ratings); every written review is five stars and the developer replies to about 96% of Play reviews. Start free for three months, no card required.
Head-to-head: the five differences that decide it
ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.
1. What the software runs: your units or your company
TIDY is bought by someone who owns or manages units and wants cleaning and maintenance to happen at those units. It does not manage a cleaning company's order pipeline, customer database, crews or cash register. ProTakip does all of that, because it was built by people who have made software for cleaning businesses for 22 years. If you sell cleaning, ProTakip is the tool that runs your day.
2. Pricing: a share of revenue versus one flat fee
TIDY takes 3.9% of gross bookings or rent, with a $19 per unit minimum, and more if you add Cleaning & Maintenance at $39 per unit or take card payments at 3.9%. Its cost rises with every good month. ProTakip charges one flat subscription with unlimited users and no share of revenue. For a growing cleaning company that difference compounds: every new customer, crew member or large job leaves your software cost unchanged.
3. The app your team opens all day
As of September 2026, TIDY rates 3.1 on Google Play and 3.72 on the App Store, while ProTakip rates 5.0 and 4.98. For a small cleaning team the practical question is whether the app your drivers and washers open dozens of times a day is identical on Android and iPhone, prints labels and receipts at the door, and lets them take a new order even where the signal drops. ProTakip is built around exactly that.
4. Customer communication and Caller ID
TIDY lists guest communication and messaging, aimed at the people staying in a property. ProTakip's communication is aimed at your own customers: automatic SMS and WhatsApp updates when a rug is picked up, washed, ready and on its way, a tracking link, a WhatsApp inbox, and Caller ID on Android that recognises returning callers even offline. Fewer calls come in, and the ones that do are faster to handle because the order is already on screen.
5. Getting a real answer
TIDY reviewers report that there is no phone line and that issues take days or weeks by email, and the developer replied to about 1% of sampled Play reviews. ProTakip gives you live human support inside the app, remote screen-share when you are stuck, and a team that replies to about 96% of Play reviews.
Why ProTakip is the best TIDY alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business
ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software, and this is why it is the best TIDY alternative for a small cleaning business. If you run the cleaning business — carpet and rug cleaning, upholstery, home cleaning or dry cleaning with a team of 1 to 15 people — ProTakip is the system built for your work, not for someone else's property. You get the full order pipeline, customer history and client management, automatic SMS and WhatsApp, Caller ID on Android, QR labels and Bluetooth receipts, route optimisation and reports, on Android, iPhone and web.
We price it the way a small business can plan around: one flat monthly fee, unlimited users, no contract, no percentage of your revenue and no fee for adding a helper in the busy season. We move your data for you, we answer you in the app, and the first three months are free. The carpet cleaning software page shows the rug-specific workflow in detail.

A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.
Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.
Switching to ProTakip: keep your TIDY jobs, own your business
For a cleaning company this is not a straight swap. If hosts send you jobs through TIDY, you can keep accepting them and still run your own business in ProTakip: customers, recurring jobs, appointments, team permissions, cash and reports, all in one place that belongs to you.
Getting started is simple. We import your customer lists and order history at no charge. Run ProTakip side by side with your spreadsheets or old software for two weeks, then retire the old tools once your team is comfortable. The first three months are free with no credit card. The switching and data migration guide walks through the steps.
Frequently asked questions
How much does TIDY cost compared with ProTakip?
According to TIDY's website (September 2026), TIDY charges 3.9% of gross bookings or rent with a $19 per unit per month minimum, so every unit costs at least $228 a year. The Cleaning & Maintenance add-on is $39 per unit per month, and card payments cost 3.9% on top. ProTakip is one flat subscription of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users and all features included, no percentage of revenue, no contract, and the first three months free, so a busy month never raises your software bill.
Is TIDY or ProTakip better for a carpet or rug cleaning business?
ProTakip. TIDY is built for the owner or manager of rental properties who needs cleaners and maintenance sent to their units; it does not run a cleaning company. ProTakip does, and it comes from 22 years of building software only for carpet-cleaning businesses: an order pipeline from pickup through washing, ready and delivery, price per square metre or per item, photos at pickup, QR labels and receipts printed on a Bluetooth printer at the door, Caller ID on Android, and automatic SMS and WhatsApp notifications, all for one flat fee with unlimited users.
I clean short-term rentals for hosts. Should I use TIDY or ProTakip?
They do different jobs. If a host books you through TIDY, you work inside their TIDY setup for those jobs. ProTakip is what you use to run your own business across all your clients: customer records, recurring jobs, appointments, team permissions, cash register and reports. You can keep accepting TIDY jobs from hosts and still own your customer list, your schedule and your numbers in ProTakip.
What do TIDY reviews say about the app?
As of September 2026, TIDY has 3.1 on Google Play from 130 reviews and 3.72 on the App Store from 1,104 ratings. One-star reviewers mostly report cleaner cancellations, difficulty reaching support without a phone number, and missing job details in the app, and the developer replied to about 1% of sampled Play reviews. ProTakip holds 5.0 on Google Play and 4.98 on the App Store, and the developer replies to about 96% of Play reviews.
Can I move my data to ProTakip, and do I have to stop using TIDY?
You do not have to stop anything. The ProTakip team migrates your customer lists and order history for you at no charge, and the first three months are free with no card, so you can run ProTakip alongside TIDY or your current tools. For a cleaning company, ProTakip replaces spreadsheets, notebooks and scattered apps with one system the whole team uses.
