Zoho FSM vs ProTakip: Why Carpet Cleaners Choose a Carpet-First App

Zoho FSM is free until you pass 30 appointments a month, then it charges by job volume. ProTakip has been built for carpet and upholstery cleaners for 22 years: one flat fee, unlimited users, the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, and the first three months free. Compared as of September 2026. ProTakip: $20 a month, unlimited users, first three months free.

ProTakip’s team has been building software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years. We started before smartphones existed, putting order-taking software on bank POS terminals so crews could print a receipt for the customer at the door. Today the same team ships one app that runs on Android, iPhone and the web, and every platform gets the same version on the same day. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.

If you are weighing Zoho FSM vs ProTakip, here is the other side in one sentence: Zoho FSM is the field-service product of Zoho Corporation, a general tool for many service trades, with a free edition capped at 30 appointments a month and paid editions priced by monthly appointment volume.

The decisive difference is simple. Zoho’s cost follows your job count and its model has to be shaped to carpet work; ProTakip is one flat fee of $20 a month with unlimited users and unlimited orders, no annual contract, and a pickup-wash-ready-delivery workflow already built for rug and upholstery cleaning. All data below is as of September 2026: Zoho FSM’s plans from its website, ratings from Google Play and the App Store, ProTakip’s features from our own product.

What Zoho FSM offers

According to Zoho FSM’s website (September 2026), the free edition is a permanent plan rather than a time-limited demo: 30 appointments a month and up to 20 users, with requests, estimates, work orders, customer management, the dispatch console, the mobile app and REST APIs included. Paid editions add features step by step: Professional adds web forms, maps and custom fields, and Premium adds multi-day appointments and asset management.

Zoho FSM belongs to the same family as Zoho CRM, Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory, so a business already running its sales or invoicing in Zoho can keep one vendor.

What Zoho FSM really costs in 2026

Zoho FSM is not priced per user; it is priced by how many appointments you run each month. Prices as published in September 2026 show four editions: Free, Standard, Professional and Premium. The paid editions are sold in appointment bands that start at 60 appointments a month and run up to 50,000, with monthly or yearly billing and a saving of up to 16% for paying yearly. The exact amount for each band was not verified here, so you will need Zoho’s pricing page and your own job count to see your number.

What matters is how quickly a real carpet business leaves the free edition. Take an owner with four field staff doing three pickups and deliveries a day, six days a week. That is roughly 70–80 appointments a month, more than double the free edition’s 30. The five logins fit inside the 20-user allowance, but the job volume does not: this team is on a paid band from its first month, and a busy spring can push it into the next band. The bill grows with your success and can change from season to season. Yearly billing lowers the rate by up to 16% but means paying a year ahead.

When the 15-day trial ends, an account that has not upgraded drops back to the free edition and its 30-appointment cap. We could not verify Zoho’s terms for SMS costs or card processing, so ask before you commit.

On ProTakip the same five-person team pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year). Unlimited users, unlimited orders, every feature included, no annual contract, no setup fee, and the first three months cost nothing. A record month does not change the bill. Start free and see current pricing.

What Zoho FSM users complain about in app reviews

As of September 2026 the Zoho FSM Android app averages 3.2 from 75 reviews and the iPhone app 2.73 from 11 ratings. In our sample of 22 recent Google Play reviews, 11 were one-star; the three recent App Store reviews we sampled were all one or two stars.

The most common thread is that the app is hard to get around or does not open. Reviewers mention login errors, an update prompt that blocks the app, long loading times and, on iPhone, the app failing to open on a new device.

“Always showing bad request after login. Can you please fix this problem?” — Google Play review
“I had to go through seven screens just to figure out all my information… I still can’t figure out how to close out an appointment.” — App Store review

Other reviewers describe the design as dated (“Old UI. This app is really old looking and just feels incomplete,” says one App Store review), ask for a search option to find one work order among hundreds, point out that single sign-on is missing on Android, and one says Arabic language support promised for 2024 had not arrived. If your crew will live in the phone app, these are the reviews that matter most.

Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip

22 years on one trade. ProTakip is not a general job tool with a carpet-cleaning page added for marketing. The team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses since the days of bank POS terminals, and today’s app is the third generation of that work, used by carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners in Türkiye and internationally. Every screen assumes rugs are picked up, washed, dried and brought back.

The same full app everywhere. Android, iPhone and the web panel run from one codebase and update on the same day. The owner carrying rugs to the van and the person answering the phone in the office see the same screens. Nobody gets a “lite” field app with half the buttons missing.

A workflow that matches the job. An order moves from received to in wash, ready, out for delivery and delivered, with pickup and delivery lists and an all-operations board. You price by the square metre or per item, add quotes, recurring jobs and appointments, and the carpet cleaning software page walks through each stage.

A price that does not punish growth. One flat monthly fee, unlimited users, no annual contract, no setup fee, and your data is yours. We migrate your existing customers and orders for free, and when you need help a real person answers in the in-app chat.

Rated by the people who use it. As of September 2026 ProTakip holds 5.0 on Google Play (37 reviews) and 4.98 on the App Store (46 ratings), and every written review in both stores is five stars. Start free for three months, no card needed.

Head-to-head: the five differences that decide it

ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.

Pricing model: capped free edition, or one flat price at any volume

Zoho FSM is free until you pass 30 appointments a month, then its cost follows your job count through appointment bands. ProTakip charges one flat monthly price whatever your volume or headcount. For any team doing more than a job a day, ProTakip is the number you can plan around, and the busy season costs you nothing extra.

Mobile experience: a wide ratings gap

Zoho FSM’s Android app sits at 3.2 and its iPhone app at 2.73, with reviewers citing login errors, loading times and too many screens to close a job. ProTakip holds 5.0 and 4.98 with identical apps on both platforms. In a small cleaning business the phone is the office, so the stronger app means faster pickups, labels printed in the van and fewer calls back to base.

Ecosystem versus focus

Zoho’s asset is breadth: CRM, Books and Inventory from the same vendor, and REST APIs. ProTakip goes deep on carpet, upholstery and home cleaning instead: order stages, square-metre pricing, item labels, Caller ID and notifications work on day one without configuration. Unless you need a single vendor for accounting, the focused tool gets you running sooner.

Customer notifications and phone calls

Most customer contact in rug cleaning is “when are my rugs coming back?” ProTakip answers it automatically with SMS and WhatsApp at each stage and a tracking link, and shows who is calling before you pick up on Android. For Zoho FSM we could not verify built-in SMS, WhatsApp or Caller ID in the September 2026 data. With ProTakip, fewer of those calls reach you in the first place.

Industry fit and onboarding

Zoho FSM uses a generic request, estimate, work order and appointment model that you shape with custom fields on higher editions. ProTakip starts from the pickup-and-return model rug plants and upholstery cleaners actually use, and our team migrates your data for free. Our guide to choosing carpet cleaning software lists the questions to ask any vendor.

Why ProTakip is the best Zoho FSM alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business

ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software for one-to-fifteen-person teams; this is why it is the best Zoho FSM alternative for that business.

For a carpet, rug, upholstery, dry-cleaning or home cleaning business with a handful of people, we are the better buy. You get a workflow built for pickup and return rather than one you must shape yourself, and an app that is equally strong on iPhone and Android, which matters when your helpers bring their own phones.

You get the tools that save time at the door: QR labels, Bluetooth receipts and photos at pickup. You get Caller ID on Android that shows balance and open orders before you answer, and automatic WhatsApp and SMS so customers stop calling to ask where their rugs are.

And you get a price that stays flat as you grow: unlimited users, unlimited orders, no annual contract, three months free, free migration of your data and a real person in the support chat. For other general tools compared the same way, read Zuper vs ProTakip, Synchroteam vs ProTakip, Jobber vs ProTakip and FieldVibe vs ProTakip, or see all comparisons.

A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.

Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.

Switching from Zoho FSM to ProTakip without losing your history

You do not rebuild anything by hand. Export your customers and work orders from Zoho FSM and send us the files; our team imports your customers, addresses and job history at no charge. Then run both systems side by side for two weeks inside ProTakip’s free three months, check that names, balances and open orders came across correctly, and cancel the old one when you are satisfied.

The switching and data migration guide explains each step, and the route planning guide covers organising delivery days once you are in. For Zoho’s own description of its product, see the official Zoho FSM site.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Zoho FSM cost compared with ProTakip?

Zoho FSM has a permanent free edition with 30 appointments a month and up to 20 users. Its paid Standard, Professional and Premium editions are priced by monthly appointment volume, from 60 up to 50,000 appointments, with yearly billing saving up to 16% according to Zoho's website in September 2026, so the bill rises as your job count rises. ProTakip is one flat subscription of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users, unlimited orders, all features and no annual contract, and the first three months are free.

Is Zoho FSM or ProTakip better for a carpet or rug cleaning business?

For a small carpet or rug cleaning team, ProTakip. First, it was built for carpet cleaning over 22 years, so pickup, wash, ready and delivery stages, square-metre pricing, QR item labels and Bluetooth receipts work on day one, while Zoho FSM is a general tool you shape yourself. Second, it sends automatic SMS and WhatsApp updates at every stage and shows the caller's balance and open orders on Android before you answer.

Is the Zoho FSM free edition enough for a small cleaning business?

Only for a very small or occasional operation. The free edition allows 30 appointments a month and up to 20 users, which is generous on users but tight on volume: a team doing two or three jobs a day passes 30 within a couple of weeks. After the 15-day trial, an account without a paid plan drops back to that free edition. ProTakip's three free months have no job cap, so you can test it on a real season.

Can I move my customers and jobs from Zoho FSM to ProTakip?

Yes. Export your customer list and work order history from Zoho FSM, and the ProTakip team imports it for you at no charge. Run both apps side by side for two weeks during ProTakip's first three free months, check that customers, addresses and open orders came across correctly, then cancel the old system.

Does ProTakip connect to accounting software the way Zoho FSM connects to other Zoho apps?

As of September 2026 ProTakip has no accounting integration of any kind, including QuickBooks, Xero and Zoho Books, and it does not process card payments from your customers. Instead it has its own cash register, income and expense tracking, receivables and daily, weekly and monthly reports, which cover what most small carpet cleaners need day to day. If you need a QuickBooks, Xero, Square, Stripe or other sync, tell us in the in-app chat: we build the connection for your account, and the first three months are free while we do.

Zoho FSM is a trademark of its respective owner. ProTakip is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zoho FSM. Competitor pricing and ratings are as published on the vendor's website or app stores on 27 September 2026 and may change.
